If they did, it's not as bad as owners trying to wash their own cars ... microscratches. A buddy of mine had a carwash, and cautioned me.

Depends on how the owner would wash it. If you use microfiber and a two bucket method it's leaves much less swirls and micro scratches than the auto car wash. I've heard of people using scotch pads! Now that's cringe worthy.
